EK Health Services, Inc. ("EK Health") announced today that it has been awarded Case Management and Utilization Management Accreditation from URAC, the Washington, DC based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. EK Health achieved a perfect 100% score from the URAC Committee for both Case Management (CM) and Utilization Management (UM).
“EK Health is honored to receive these reaccreditations from URAC,” said Kerri Wilson, Executive Vice President of EK Health. “We are extremely proud of this result as it is a true testament to the work that is done in support of Case Management and Utilization Review throughout our organization.”
URAC's Case Management Accreditation standards require companies to establish a process to assess, plan and implement case management interventions, including standards to ensure appropriate patient protection and confidentiality. URAC’s Utilization Management standards establish consistency in UM processes. The standards ensure that appropriately trained clinical personnel conduct and oversee the UR process, that a reasonable and timely appeals process is in place, and that medical decisions are based on valid clinical criteria. EK Health's reaccreditation for CM and UM services is now current to July 1, 2020.
“URAC accreditation is important to EK Health as it is a clear mark of quality in our industry. It assures us and our clients that our policies, processes and operations are indeed of the highest standards of quality. Delivering the highest quality in every product we offer is essential to EK Health’s mission,” said Eunhee Kim, CEO of EK Health.
